Five Keys to Attracting A Coach

"I have always believed that if you are open to coaching, the right coach will come into you life, for the right reason, at the right time." - Jeb Blount

Ask For Help: This is the first and most important step. Put away your pride, open up and ask for help.

Listen: Open your ears and your heart. Check your ego and put defensiveness aside. You must be ready to stretch.

Trust: You must have complete trust in your coach with the understanding that they are working for your best interest and can see things about you that you cannot see or will not admit.

Take Action: You must be willing to follow through on agreed upon action steps. You must be willing to do the hard work to make progress. If you are unwilling or unable to complete a task then say so up front. There is nothing more frustrating for a coach than a coachee who fails to follow through.

Be Accountable: You, and only you, are responsible and accountable for your actions, goals, failures, and success. You must be willing to accept complete personal accountability or the outcome of any coaching relationship.
